Pass Plus. Newly qualified drivers are significantly more likely to have a traffic accident than experienced drivers. Pass Plus is a modular, government approved, course which aims to tackle this problem, by improving the skills needed to pass the L test and encouraging a planned, more positive approach to driving. Taking a Pass Plus course can result in significant reductions in insurance premiums. At Elite we have instructors who are qualified to deliver Pass Plus Courses.
Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) Training. Anyone holding a full, clean British or Northern Ireland driving licence, for a minimum of at least 4 out of the last 6 years, who has not been disqualified from driving in the last 4 years and who doesn't have convictions, including motoring offences, still in force, can train to become a driving instructor. 3 exams have to be passed. At Elite we can offer training for the ADI qualification.
Van Driver Improvement Training (Under 7.5 Tonnes). Anyone passing the UK car driving test since January 1997 will only be licensed to drive a vehicle up to 1.5 Tonnes. In order to drive a vehicle over 1.5 tonnes an LGV test will need to be passed. We recommend that this is done with an LGV training establishment. Elite can offer improvement van driver training to those people who passed the car test before January 1997 without the need for an LGV test to be taken.
Taxi Driver Improvement Training. Some local authorities are encouraging taxi drivers to take a vocational driving test. This is voluntary at the moment but it is likely that it will become compulsory. Elite can train taxi drivers to reach the required standard.
Fleet Driver Improvement Training. Company car drivers often become complacent about driving, which just becomes part of the job. It is important that standards are maintained to keep accident claims to the minimum and to prevent drivers from having time off work due to injury. . Elite can deliver fleet driver improvement training to raise the standard.
Rolling Programs for Minibus, Van, Taxi and Fleet Drivers. Keeping standards up is an important objective for transport managers.. Elite can offer rolling programs to enable high standards to be maintained.
Foreign Driver UK Familiarization. Some companies have exchanges of personnel from foreign countries. Often our driving conditions are quite different to what these personnel are used to. Elite can offer familiarization training with regard to UK rules, regulations and conditions.
Institute of Advanced Motorists/Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Tests. The IAM and ROSPA have tests that can be taken (membership of the relevant body is required). Passing these tests can bestow certain benefits such as insurance discounts. Elite can deliver the relevant training to enable these tests to be passed.
Refresher, Parking, Motorway and Night time Training. Some people feel the need to have refresher lessons for various reasons; others have concerns about parking, motorway or night time driving. Elite can help overcome any problems or concerns that there might be with any aspect of driving.
Assessments for Court Proceedings and Reports for Magistrates. Solicitors representing clients who have court proceedings pending, for motoring offences, may find this service of interest. Solicitors clients who are planning to plead guilty may benefit from taking some improvement lessons. Taking such lessons voluntarily may act in mitigation, possibly helping to reduce sentencing. Reports can be written which could be used in the mitigation process. Elite can offer the improvement training with any reports deemed necessary.
